Paynes Grey is in nearly every painting I have created in the past three years, whether in large or small quantities. I’ve mixed it with other hues to tone it down, or lighten it up here and there. But I wondered what happens when I add more of a jewel toned-blue and mixed it in? Let me tell you what happens. It takes a backdrop from saying “it’s midnight, it’s dark, things look bleak but I’m holding onto hope” to saying “midnight is over, it’s still a bit dark but you’re starting to see, dawn is just around the corner. Hold on faithful one, the darkness has not overcome the light.”

“Twilight” Is an acrylic 8x10 on canvas with collage papers. The sides are painted to match the front so it can be hung with or without a frame.
