Abstract Mixed Media Painting.

Materials: Acrylics, collaged sketch book pages, pastel, charcoal pencil and oil stick. The small piece of paper collaged on that is circled in pastels reads “I am not this” The art is the gift, but the gift is not who I am.

Painting intuitively is a visual representation of the decisions made during the artistic process, reflecting both the painting's journey and the artist's personal experiences that day. I start with a colorful wash and incorporate messages using water-soluble neocolors, sometimes leaving them visible, other times blending them into subsequent layers. These messages, often prayers, song lyrics, or poetic words, symbolize my personal journey. I hope these hidden elements inspire collectors in their own paths. Occasionally, the prayer is too personal to share verbatim, however, each will come with a certificate of authentication either quoting or summarizing the message beneath in hopes you can connect with it too.

Message Included on the Certificate of Authentication: “May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace”.

“The Hebrew word in this verse, which is translated in English to “bless,” is bârakh. This word has a deeper meaning in the Hebrew language – a meaning that alludes to God’s respectful provision. This word imparts to readers that God will provide his children what they need. The Hebrew word in this verse which is translated in English to “keep” is shamar. Shamar means to guard and protect. This word communicates to us that God will place a hedge of protection around his children.” ( biblestudytools.com)
