This piece was born after a long group study on prayer. Praying and then having the faith to go on acting like you believe that prayer is going to be answered according to His will in His time. Every prayer in faith is answered with a yes, no, or not just yet.
This piece has two layers of scripture. The first layer says “The Great I Am” and after a few layers of color and texture a second layer of text says ”Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer, believe you have received it.” The asemic writing (artist jargon for script that is illegible) is scattered in each layer throughout the painting and is meant to mimic prayers.
Writing on the canvas is part of my own process as I mentally process whatever life has me contemplating at the time. I record the written layers before they get covered so that it can be included for you on a certificate of authenticity with you painting. My hope is that it encourages and connects with you too.
